Still as i see by all this discussion no one is going to take any action, maybe because some think it's not worthy or maybe because they are afraid to be seen as ridiculous.

Well, I like this game. As a matter of fact it saddens me that they don't even care FOR THEIR COSTUMERS. So i took the freedom to write a letter (it's my right to inform the Company how they can provide better services - some would call it by feedback) Anyhow i already sent to their email [email protected].

If it was possible i would like to someone to post it on the GuildWars facebook page, i'm not used to it, don't even know how to use. I asked a friend from work to post it with a fake account but he's also dumb as RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO.

Gw2 is a totally different game than gw1--people will like both, hate both, like one or the other. It is just your opinion as to which one you like the best. For those of us who like gw1 and dislike gw2 we would like to have more in gw1 (reminds me of when a kid gets a new toy the old one--still in good working order, is pushed to the side in favor of the new one, doesnt mean the old one is a bad toy, just the new one is NEW).

Many people dont want to move onto the 'new' game as its not what they want to play, we dont like the 'new' toy and would appreciate our opinions being held just as highly as those who like both or only the new one. You cant please all the people all the time, as and anet has said --it doesnt cost that much to produce new quests in time or money so why not make some new quests for those loyal players who are still playing one of their games?

Have you even tried Gw2? I assure you bugs are at a minimal at the state the game is now, you want even notice it. Its not Anets fault the few people left playing haven't moved on, they are keeping the server up is being pretty loyal. Anet doesn't owe you anything, content, expansions, quests, etc. It's like saying you haven't moved on from your ex and still expect them to be loyal to you.

no I havent tried it since it bluescreened my computer last time.
Fault? the game is still quite playable--actually still a ONE OF A KIND game, why move onto another wow clone???? There are things that only the original guildwars offers (and no other game online now does), why should I leave? Has gw2 added the ritualist? Do they allow my ele to use a bow? Can my guardian have a pet? etc. I dont like gw2 and I have no reason to play it--I LIKE guildwars (if you want me to list the reasons for my dislike of the other game I am sure I can find the thread someplace here---)
And not its not like staying on your ex---its more like still caring for your first born child when your second child is born. Yes the second will need a lot of attention for a while BUT the first still is there.
No they dont 'owe' us anything but it would be nice to continue to support the gameS they have not just the newest one. If they had not planned on supporting both guildwars titles they should have just told us they were going to pull the plug and turned it off, but no they said they were going to keep it running with a minimal crew, etc.

The thing is, even ANet would agree that GW2 is NOTHING like GW. So... why would you give up a perfectly good game for a completely different game?

I would totally be willing to donate to a Kickstarter if one were to come out for GW.

@cosyfiep I understand that you like GW, I never even questioned it. I was just pointing out the false statement GW2 is being full of bugs, when in fact it isn't, now at least.

I love GW1, don't get me wrong, but Anet didn't lose anything, GW2 was more successful in under a year, than the entire 7-8 year of GW1

as I stated before, the new game also costs more, most people bought the more expensive versions of it than purchased the originals CE version, more people are BUYING gems etc from the cash store (wasnt any such animal for the original), so yeah, it is making more money, if you count 'success' in monetary points. It was also hyped up for the last 5+ years, so lots of people who played gw bought it (many of whom have also STOPPED playing it as well).
I would wait and see as to how successful it is after year 2, not after the first 8 months, and then I would wait and see where it is in 8 years like the original that is still being played (and MANY are coming back to).
guildwars (the original) is successful, it sold plenty of copies and is STILL online! so why not continue to make money off of that success???

I've posted the letter about the kickstarter project on their webpage from Adam Layunta. I hope for an answer.

Okay.

I tried hard. Really, really, really, really hard to like Guild Wars 2.

I really did. I grinded out fifty levels in the first week of playing and then I just stopped. I felt no reason to keep playing. The gameplay feels stale and repetitive, skills are boring and overdone, Elite Spells don't have that sense of awe and grandeur to them that I was expecting. I even tried very hard *not* to expect GW 1 in my playing experience. At the end of the day all I got was a boring, grindy WoW Clone.

But it's just not anything special. If I wanted what GW 2 offered, I wouldn't have quit WoW or Warhammer Online or any of the other MMOs out there that were good, but not great. They promised a game change. They promised an MMO that would redefine MMOs. I guess its just my fault for believing the hype, but after how great a game GW 1 was, how could I say no? It is one of the few games I regret spending sixty dollars to buy.

On the other hand, GW I was something very different. Undoubtedly it has its problems, but the fact remains that there is no online RPG I have ever played that has captivated me as much as this game. I have played it for years. Maybe not consistently, but I always come back. There is something very special about Guild Wars that its successor simply does not capture.

So yeah, I wholeheartedly agree with some of the above posters in this thread. Hopefully Arena-Net will wake up and give back to a community that has been there for years.

Hopefully.

I think you've missed the entire point people are making for not moving on to GW2. Other then the name and borrowing some of the lore, GW2 is very different from the game that allowed it to be made to begin with. A few changes wouldn't be so bad but the entire game was changed from the ground up. Skill system, weapons, removed classes, removed secondaries, paid travel, gems, armor repair and heavily altering pvp make this game completely uninteresting for people who like the unique flavor GW offers. I can't play as a warrior with a pet for example. Little things like this that people enjoy that have been stripped away because GW2 has been heavily streamlined and built from the ground up for casual play. My personal opinion is that it's not a bad game, it's just the wrong one for me. I was hoping for a GW 1.5 or 2.0... much like a recent interview stated they would do with GW2. Seems like it wasn't too much to ask for after all.

As for a kickstarter, I don't see it working until Anet acknowledges and agrees to it. And that imo is something that probably won't happen. However, if that happened, I would gladly lend financial support to it.

Really Nice Work.

Let's at least comment there and flood their fanpage. So we get more visibility and hopefully they will give a word sooner or later.

Need more likes for that letter go like and comment you never know.

And yes I paid a high price for GW2 Collectors only to be bored and disappointed almost immediately. I should have listened to myself and cancelled but I just kept hoping

I've also twitted about this post @ArenaNet @GuildWars.
How can they ignore it ? It would be such a shame if we don't get any answer.

Well I've played GW2 a lot. It isn't as good as GW1 in my opinion, but most of my guildies from GW1 moved there so that's where I end up spending most of my gaming time.
Many of us are coming to the conclusion that GW2 is little more than an unfinished, poorly optimized wow clone that keeps trying to grab our credit cards. A hybrid of sorts.. like they started off well, but then someone greedy took over, slapped what they had together, added the WoW factor, tied up loose ends and called it ready. Some of us are looking for something new, or a reason to come back to GW1.
I would LOVE to see GW1 get some developer attention. New skills, new story arc, new graphics etc..

The problem I see with the kickstarter idea is that any development to GW1 is likely to be influenced by Nexon. Unless you like the idea of having to pay for lockpicks with real money, I'd throw a No-Nexon-Involvement clause in that kickstarter.
Maybe (hopefully) I'm wrong about that.

Looks like it's getting attention on the official GW2 Forums.
It was originally posted in a high-traffic area.. but looks like it was moved to an extremely low traffic area.. anyway, here's the link:
